WHAT'S OUR MISSION?

The church of the 1st century valued the message of the gospel (the good news that Jesus is the son of God and has reconciled humanity to God through his death and resurrection), they valued the mission of Jesus (to reveal his glory to the broken and bring hope to the hurting) and they valued living life together (they lived on mission together as the people of Christ). God worked through the early church to saturate the 1st Century world with the light of the gospel and the glory of Jesus Christ.

We share these values.  Our aim is to be a gospel-centered community living together on mission - to look as much like the 1st century church as possible in the 21st century.  We want to see our city become a new city through an ancient faith - the gospel of Jesus Christ.

WHAT'S OUR METHOD?

In the New Testament, we see the early church gathering in larger numbers at the Temple and gathering in smaller numbers in houses.  In his letters to the churches, the Apostle Paul would sometimes greet specific house churches that were a part of the church in a particular city.

We do the same thing; we gather corporately on Sundays to worship, take communion, pray and to hear bible teaching and we gather throughout the week in homes, living on mission together as 'the church' in our neighborhoods - loving, serving, knowing and speaking the gospel boldly into the lives of our neighbors and friends.

LEAD PASTOR AND PLANTER

God has given Guy and Becca a passion for the glory of Jesus and for spreading a passion for his glory through the multiplication of gospel-centered churches across Greater Houston.  Married for 16 years and with 12 years of planting/pastoral ministry experience, they believe that Houston, the most diverse city in the nation, is experiencing a mighty work of the Holy Spirit as the gospel spreads, house to house, into every dark corner of our city - as God calls out a people for his Name.

RADICAL VISION

God has given us a radical vision.  We do not want to be a church that simply grows in number.  We want to be a church that multiplies itself over and over again.  Our vision is to saturate our city with the gospel of Jesus Christ by planting churches that plant churches that plant churches.

We never want to be a church that reaches 400 people; not because we want to ever stop reaching people with the gospel, but because we want to send people out every three years to plant a new church, a church that will share the same vision, that will plant a church in three years.

This means that we will never raise money to purchase land or build buildings.  We will always be small enough to meet in a YMCA or a school or a movie theatre.  We can plant a church with as few as 50 people.  Each person brings just one person into the life of the body each year.  This gets you to 400 and ready to plant another church in three years.

As we reach people with the gospel over the first three years, we are developing leaders, a planter and a team who will be among those 'sent' to plant the next church.  By year six, both churches plant again, bringing us to four churches.  At year nine, four churches plant and become eight.  Year 12, 8 become 16 churches.  Year 15, 16 churches become 32.  As you can see below, this becomes radically exponential.  If each church plants a church once every three years, in 30 years we will see more than 1,000 churches planted across Greater Houston and we will see our vision of saturating our city with the gospel become a reality!
